1984 Shovelhead Low Rider

The orignal HD frame was purchased from Twin's Parts including a valid, matching title. The swingarm is from a 1981 Sturgis (rear belt drive) model, it is wider than a stock Shovelhead swingarm, which gives me room for the 200mm rear tire on the rear. The wheels and tires are from a 1990's Suzuki GSX-R and/or Katana (not really sure) sport bike. They will be polished, not painted, when they are done. The shorter shocks were a trade made with Lee from Broadway Choppers. The front end is from a late model FXWG. The engine is being built from the bottom up, as is the transmission. Some vital internal work on the engine as well as the transmission is being done by Terry's Custom in Latham, Illinois. Some machine work on the axle adjusters was done by Chris R from Terry's Motorcycle Swap and Tech Forum. The axle slots were opened up on a vertical mill to 21MM for the Suzuki rear axle. The swingarm slots were done with an angle grinder as they are not as critical. Great care was taken anyway to insure they were done correctly. The wheel rides straight and true in the swingarm. I am still undecided on whether or not I am going to rake the neck on this one. It is dropped down low and it would add to the long/low look if I rake it...... I do want to retain the stock look of the frame as much as possible, but it may yet go the raked route....

For sheetmetal, I have a set of custom 5 gallon Fat Bobs, and fenders have yet to be picked out. I have absolutely no idea on the paint yet, but I have time....
